Plymouth Chickens Anyone?

I mentioned a few posts ago how I had gotten about six Rooster’s in my flock of Red and Blue Laced Wyandotte chickens so I had bought two more chicks to see if I can get the number of hens that I had wanted.  I had fallen in love with some cute black chicks at the local feed store so I asked her if they would grow to be hens she said they would so I bought two and received a chick free too I might mention.   This chicks are very sweet and seem to have a more docile temperament then the Wyandottes did which is saying a lot as my little flock are some of the sweetest chickens around.

Some of their white shell patterns are beginning to develop on the wings and the white dot on the top of the head is beginning to fade.  These are smart looking black and white patterned hens when they grow up.  I would definitely recommend this breed for anyone’s flock they are easy to care for, even knowing when to ask for food and do not tend to be over eaters.  They develop habits faster then the other chicks I raised and seem to have a high IQ for a chicken.  See how this chick which is the second biggest seems to be checking out the camera as I took the picture.  She is on top of the water jug to get a better view.
